The Planetary Health Check & Responsible Action to address our Planetary Emergency – Luncheon with Andre Hoffmann and Johan Rockström

Tuesday, 21 January, 2025, 12:00-14:00 CET

OCEAN ROOM

With the support of InTent

With six of nine planetary boundaries breached and the world experiencing its first 12 months of 1.5 degree temperatures above preindustrial average, leaders are waking up to hard business realities of the planetary crisis.

These boundaries are based on scientific evidence that crossing them could result in abrupt and irreversible environmental changes, thus threatening the stability of the planet and human societies. Understanding and respecting these planetary boundaries is crucial for maintaining the stability and resilience of the Earth system.  The recently launched Planetary Health Check, for the first time ever, offers annual updates on the state of the planet to enable informed business and policy decision making.

This session offers business leaders and investors an overview of the current state of the planet, plans to bridge the latest science and corporate profitability, supply chain risk and societal impacts which map a path for responsible corporate action.  In addition, philanthropic actors are joining hands at GAEA and with the Planetary Health Check to establish a global movement toward planetary stewardship and sustainable development for all.

with André Hoffmann, Co-founder, InTent and Johan Rockström, Director, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research.

By invitation only.
