The Business Case for Investing in African Girls

Thursday, 23 January, 2025, 09:30-11:00 CET

This session, hosted by Brands on a Mission with its founder Prof. Myriam Sidibe at the helm, powered by the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) will ask the question: “What is the business case for investing in African girls?” Through a vibrant roundtable discussion, the aim of the session is for leaders of the private, social, and public sectors to co-create a vision to inspire and scale up private sector investment in African girls and young women.

The session will begin with a provocation that each of our participants will be invited to respond to; namely, hearing perspectives on what success looks like for the private sector’s investment in African girls and young women. What has been done right or wrong to date, and how do we need to change our approach as we look towards 2030?

Participants include:

  1. Sanda Ojiambo, Executive Director – UN Global Compact
  2. Ndidi Okonkwo Nwuneli, President/CEO – ONE Campaign
  3. Dr Anino Emuwa, Founder – 100 Women@Davos
  4. Pauline Koelbl, Founder and Managing Partner – ShEquity Partners
  5. Hermann Betten, Chief Corporate Affairs & Communications Officer, Flora Food Group
