A New Decade on Water Action: Advancing the SDGs

Ocean Room, 19 January, Thursday, 2023, 07:30-09:00 CET

With 40 percent of the world’s population being affected by water scarcity, water security has become a national priority across the world. Ensuring access to safe water and sanitation and building resilient water systems globally is essential. Beyond addressing public health, clean water access is also a central component of gender equality and community development. This session will bring together leading voices on water stewardship to share best practices and identify tangible collaboration opportunities for the future.

Good water stewards engage in meaningful action – both individually and collectively – to responsibly manage water as a resource, prioritising sustainability and impact and effectively contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Bringing together industry leaders and key drivers of change within the WEF environment will provide a cross-sectoral, holistic view of the challenges faced and help advance discussions in a collaborative manner, raising awareness and inviting others to take action.

Ahead of key 2023 conversations, including the UN 2023 Water Conference, “Our Watershed Moment: Uniting the World for Water,” join us for a discussion on the importance of partnerships and cooperation to support the objectives of the Water Action Decade, including SDG 6.
