Putting food on the table in a world in crisis
During 2020/21, the organizers ran a series of UN Food Systems Summit Dialogues (FSSDs) that brought together over 300 diverse global food systems stakeholders to identify game changing ideas that defined key solutions for a sustainable and climate-smart future. Back then, leaders such as Rodrigo Santos, David Nabarro, Joao Campari, and Lawrence Haddad, among others, were crucial in shaping the conversation towards action.
Following the UN Food Systems Summit, key themes were defined and member states, through FSSDs, created national pathway documents which outline their roadmap for advancement of actions. These roadmaps highlight voices and perspectives from around the world. During this event we will revisit the next steps required to advance actions for key themes that have emerged from these documents. The FSSD structure, which allows for participation and input from all attendees, will result in the identification of appropriate work to create and prioritize action.
The objective of this dialogue is to inspire specific actions by global leaders in what is potentially a make-or-break year for international cooperation on creating sustainable food systems and determining the role of innovation in supporting nature-positive solutions.
This dialogue is meant to lead to action in 2022 and beyond.
This event is open for the media from 20:00 to 20:30.
